Ten players were available this week and all played a part in each game as they continue on their learning curve.

Shelf A v Wyke A

Wyke A
Nathan Aylott
Connor Barran
Ethan Downey
Lewis Evans
Lucas Keenan
Owen Khan
Jarad Muff
Sam Preston
Charlie Smith
Zachary Walsh

Score: 1-0 (HT 0-0)

Wyke Goals:

Wyke A were very unlucky to lose by the odd goal against Shelf.

Connor made four excellent saves before playing outfield and defending strongly. Ethan played well in midfield and one of his mazy runs nearly produced a goal but his shot was well saved. Sam defended well and looked assured. Lucas showed good control on his debut for Wyke and had four shots in total but was unlucky to see one go wide and the keeper equal to the other three. Charlie battled hard in midfield and was unlucky not to score in the second half. Owen linked up well in the middle and looked threatening when going forward. Zac showed pace and had one shot well saved. Lewis played confidently at the back and was always aware of where his teammates were, showing a good reading of the game. Jarad was desperately unlucky not to keep out the only goal in the second half when he got his fingers to the ball but was unable to stop the shot from creeping inside of the post. Nathan showed some good touches and linked up well in the middle.

Shelf B v Wyke B

Wyke B
Nathan Aylott
Connor Barran
Ethan Downey
Lewis Evans
Lucas Keenan
Owen Khan
Jarad Muff
Sam Preston
Charlie Smith
Zachary Walsh

Score: 0-10 (HT 0-5)

Wyke Goals: Zak (3), Charlie (2), Lucas (2), Owen, Lewis, OG.

Wyke B regained the local bragging rights with a comfortable win against a small home side.

Owen scored one goal from six shots. Charlie made three fine saves before moving to midfield and scored two goals from two shots. Zac got a great hat trick from only three shots. MoM, Lucas scored two from four shots on a fantastic debut before giving the home defence a break and dropping back in to goal for the second half where he made one good save from a rare Shelf break-away. Lewis scored one from his only shot at the end of the game. The other goal was an OG conceded after Owen had caused panic with a super dribble in to the box. Sam did well at the back on the few occasions that Shelf got in to the Wyke half. Connor was solid in a self-made sweeper role and was always the last man to thwart the Shelf strikers. Ethan had a lot of touches and had two shots which both went unfortunately wide of the goal. Nathan tackled well in the middle and got forward on numerous occasions to support the strikers. Jarad passed well from defence in the first half before going up front for the second half where he had one shot which unluckily hit the post.

Everyone went home happy Smile
