Kirkburton A v Wyke A

Wyke A
Nathan Aylott
Connor Barran
Ethan Downey
Owen Khan
Charlie Smith
Zachary Walsh

Score: 6-2 (HT 4-1)

Wyke Goals: Charlie (2)

Wyke A continued to gain more experience this week with a gutsy defeat at Kirkburton.

Connor made five good saves in the first half before reverting to defence for the second half where he came forward towards the end and had a shot which went wide of the goal. Ethan made some good runs and tackles before going off at half time. Charlie (MoM) was strong and quick which rewarded him with two great goals. His first was a neat finish after good work from Zak and Owen. His second came from the penalty spot after he was brought down in the box. Owen was unlucky not to score in the first half and made four good stops in the second half when replacing Connor in goal. Zak tried hard up front but got little change from a solid home defence. Nathan battled well when he came on in the second half for Ethan.

Kirkburton B v Wyke B

Wyke B
Nathan Aylott
Connor Barran
Matthew Brumfitt
Bailey Clarkson
Ethan Downey
Owen Khan
Sam Preston
Charlie Smith

Score: 10-0 (HT 5-0)

Wyke Goals:

Wyke B suffered a heavy defeat in the second game.

Nathan made three fine saves before going off at half time. Sam defended well before going in goal for the second half where he made three super saves. Ethan tackled hard but had to come off in the second minute following an injury. He came back on at half time though to show great determination. Bailey tried his best but found the home defence too quick and strong when he got the chance to break away. Matthew was out of luck in front of goal but did have four shots that were all saved. Owen also had a chance to score but the keeper too thwarted him. Connor came on at half time and defended resolutely against the strong Kirkburton attack and he got forward too to take three good corners and some long throw ins. Charlie came on near the end in place of Ethan and played well in the middle.
