Match Report v 3D Dynamos (Away) 04/10/2009 Empty Match Report v 3D Dynamos (Away) 04/10/2009

Wyke suffered another heavy defeat this week, this time at the hands of League
newboys 3D Dynamos.

Wyke started off reasonably well, and although they spent much of the first half
defending, they seemed to be coping well with the barrage of attack from the
Dynamos. Joe Couble made light work of the many chances they had.

Dynamos continued to attack, and used their fast strikers to great effect, they had
three one-on-ones which Keeper Joe Couble did well to save.

Dynamos took the lead after 10 minutes, and very suddenly the confidence in the Wyke
team was low. Dynamos continued to attack and Wyke let another two goals in in
the first half.

At the other end of the pitch, Quinn had had a great opportunity to put Wyke back into
the match after a brilliant through-ball from Jack Lamch. Connor Rhodes also
broke through a couple of times but wasn’t going to beat the keeper. Scott
Morris worked hard on the left to create chances, but there was little
attacking play made as the Wyke midfield were very deep.

Wyke trailed 3-0 at half time, and there was definitely a lack of enthusiasm in the
Wyke team from most players. Wyke really needed to get their heads down and
work if they wanted to get anything from the game.

Actually Wyke did come out much more positive and there was a definite improvement in
attitude. Jake Gilderdale came out firing on all cylinders, and put his heart
and soul into the game, however he had a
tough job against a strong Dynamos midfield who were now attacking in numbers.

Wyke held the game at 3-0 for a long time in the second half, and actually could have
given themselves a chance to get back into the game. Connor Rhodes broke
through but it was a tight angle and he couldn’t beat the keeper. Scott Morris
was a constant threat down the left wing, and put in a couple of through balls,
but it just wasn’t happening for Wyke today.

Jack Lamch whipped in a great cross from a corner, and Tai met it, but it was cleared off
the line.

A little bit unfairly, Wyke went 4-0 down, and again Wyke’s heads went down. Owen Hanson
was taken off, and then Tai Pedder was taken off injured meaning Wyke’s central
defence had totally changed. Dom Pickersgill and Nathan Khan ended up in
central defence, both players normally playing midfield, so they had a tough
job to adapt to.

Joe Couble was very busy for the last 10 minutes and made some good saves, but Dynamos completed
the game with another couple of late goals. One shouldn’t have been allowed,
because of a mistake by the referee, but Wyke didn’t do enough today, and 3D
Dynamos earned a well deserved victory.

Final Score
Wyke 0-6 3D Dynamos

Man of
the Match

Joe Couble:
Joe had a very busy game today, and did really well to keep the score down to
6. He made a few crucial one-on-one saves, and was confident in collecting
balls in the area.

Jake
Gilderdale: Jake came on at half-time and worked very hard in the middle of
midfield. He displayed a lot of heart and passion, and got stuck in...something
which Wyke were severely lacking in today.

We have to start working harder on the pitch boys. We need to want it more, and not let
our heads go down when we let a goal in. If we keep working hard we can get
back into the game. Actually we did much better in the second half and didn’t
deserve to lose by 6 goals. Lets keep our heads held high, because we haven’t
played a team that were better than us at football. Me and Andy will try and
make sure we are more organised, but we all need to stay positive and keep
working hard for the full game.
