Kexborough 2 Wyke 3

Todays game was a top of the table clash with Kexborough who were in 2nd place, 2 points behind us. In the first half Kexborough played with the slight slope in thier favour which saw them score the first goal of the game by exposing our lack of pace to burst through and score 1-0. Wyke got a corner after approx 15 mins and superb delivery from Adam Wainwright saw Mackenzie Taylor score with a great header 1-1, Kexborough then scored themselves from a corner to go 2-1 in front, Joe Walshe then finished off a goalmouth scramble to make it 2-2 at half time. The second half started off quite evenly but as the game wore on Wyke started to put the home side under pressure. Kexborough had to substitute their goalkeeper with about 10 minutes to go after an accidental clash. Wyke continued to push forward creating a few chances and the makeshift keeper made two fine saves before eventually conceding with almost the last kick of the game Joe Walshe getting his second goal to keep our 100% record in tact. The game was played in a very good spirit by two evenly matched sides but maybe the man of the match Emma Devine was the difference today.
