A Summary of how all of our teams did... 2009/10 Season Empty A Summary of how all of our teams did... 2009/10 Season

The Under 8’s continued to play friendly matches, and both teams coped very well against their opposition. Both teams had some great games and racked up a good few wins.

The Under 9’s did the club proud in their first season of competitive football. Both teams managed to finish 4th in their leagues, with 17 wins between them for the season.

The Under 10’s have had a difficult season this year. They finished 10th out of 12 teams, meaning they managed to finish out of the bottom two, but they were 12 points clear of them. The B team had a slightly better season, maintaining a respectable 8th place, with 7 wins and 3 draws from 20 matches.

The Under 11’s were one of the strongest teams in Division 4 this season, and will surely be promoted to a higher division after finishing 3rd in the league with 13 wins out of 18, and 72 goals.

The Under 12’s turned around their fortunes after a difficult season and relegation last year. In what was a very difficult division, Wyke managed to earn a top half finish in Division 2, and some fantastic wins against top teams. Wyke earned 14 wins and two draws in 26 matches. Wyke also had an unbeaten 11 game run.

The Under 13’s had hopes of winning the 1st Division title, with the top six teams separated by only six points. However due to injury troubles, Wyke managed a 4th place finish, however it was still an excellent season for them in the top division of Under 13’s football. They were unlucky also to have missed out on a cup final, after being defeated on penalties in the semis.

The Under 14’s were the big success for the season. The U14’s became the Division 2 champions with an amazing 23 wins in 26 matches. Wyke went 25 games unbeaten but didn’t quite manage the full season, after being defeated on the last game of the season. However nothing has been taken away from what was a brilliant season for the U14’s.

The U15’s did very well adjusting to life back in Division 1, after promotion last season. Wyke had a fantastic season, and earned a 3rd place finish with 9 wins and 4 draws in 16 games. They were only a point off second, but were some way behind the eventual champions. However considering two years ago the team was languishing at the foot of the second division, the team’s fortunes have really turned around.

The Under 16’s who were also promoted last season had a tough job on their hands. The team had a great start to the season and looked like a top four team, however the second half of the season saw them loose a lot of games due to player shortages, but the team worked hard and still managed to achieve a strong 8th place finish.

The Senior Team also were in an unfamiliar division, after promotion to the West Yorkshire League Division One. Wyke started the season rather badly, and for most of the season were battling to keep out of the bottom two which would have seen them relegated. Although they had some games in hand, things were looking doubtful for them. However Wyke hit form towards the back end of the season winning their last four games. The league was very tight at the bottom, and Wyke’s well earned points lifted them well clear of the relegation zone and into mid-table, finishing 8th out of 15 teams with 12 wins and 2 draws from 28 games.

The Sunday Men’s team also came close to the drop from the Bradford Sunday Alliance First Division. They finished 8th, and narrowly avoided relegation by 2 points. With Wyke managing to keep their First Division status they have ensured that they will be playing at a very good standard next season.
