Match Report- 28/09/2008- Wyke v Dewsbury U7's

Wyke U7s started their football careers on Sunday with two games against Dewsbury Rangers. It was no surprise to see an experienced Dewsbury win the first game 6-1 even though Zachary Walsh scored a well-taken first goal of the game for Wyke.

The second game was a much closer affair. Zak again opened the scoring after an assist from Sam. Dewsbury levelled direct from the re-start but Wyke took a 2-1 lead in to half-time when Connor Barran raced half the length of the pitch and powered in an un-stoppable shot. Clearly shocked by the score-line, Dewsbury played their best players in the second half and eventually ran in three un-answered goals. It was a tremendous initial effort from the boys and all who played are worthy of a mention. Charlie Smith, Owen Khan, Ethan Downey, Matthew Brumfitt, Lewis Evans, and Nathan all contributed to two famous games of football which will be hard to forget by all of those privileged to watch.
