Match Report

After a dissapointing start to the season, with a defeat to Lepton last week. Wyke needed to pick themselves up, to carry on in the top Under 11's division.

Wyke made a lively start, and within 6 minutes, Wyke took the lead, with a great goal from Michael Brooksbank.

5 minutes later, a poor moment of defending, lead to an equaliser from Barugh.

However Wyke kept going, and though Barugh had a couple of chances, Wyke took the lead again with another powerful strike from Michael Brooksbank, for his and Wyke's second of the game.

Michael continued to tear through the Barugh defence, and again was gifted with another goal, to give him a well deserved hatrick.

Barugh's attack had a difficult time against, the offside trap, and Joe Mac in Goals was having a great game, coming off his line to win the ball, before the Barugh strikers could get there. Owen Hanson was very strong, and was having a great game.

Half Time- Wyke lead 3-1

Barugh started well in the second half, and looked strong, defensively, Wyke struggled, and again Joe Mac in goals, was there with some great goalkeeping, to avoid letting in many goals.

Against the run of play, Wyke extended their lead to 4-1. Michael Brooksbank, scored with a powerful shot, well the ball came back out from a corner.

Barugh, started to put more men into attack. And Jake, Louis, Tai and Owen defended very well to stop letting Barugh back into the game, Joe Mac in goals continued to make some great saves.

Dom Pickersgill and Nathan, held the centre of midfield well, and kept the team strong in midfield.

Wyke got a bit of luck, when Barugh gave a penalty away, from a handball in the area. Michael Brooksbank scored in the bottom corner, to add to his brilliant tally of 5 goals in the game. 5-1.

However the action wasnt over. Tai Pedder handled the ball on the line, at the other end of the pitch, and Barugh scored, to make it 5-2.

Barugh then went all out attack, to try and get something from the game with 4 minutes to go.

Then Barugh scored again to give themselves a lifeline. A very poorly defended corner, went straight in, and the result was 5-3.

However it was far to late for Barugh to get back into the game, and Wyke were the winners after a great team performance.

Man of the Match: Michael Brooksbank: Mikey was amazing, and on top form, 5 goals was just what he deserved, and his confidence is high for next game.

Other Key Players: Joe Mac in Goals was brilliant, and Owen Hanson was very strong at the back.
