| | | | Manchester United thanks Wyke Wanderers!!! | Fri Oct 09, 2009 7:44 pm by Dave Turner | Wyke are delighted to announce that Manchester United have been in touch to thank our club for our coaching efforts. Joe Dudgeon, who was a former Wyke Wanderer (in Steve Vickers' team) has been part of the Man U academy since leaving Wyke at Under 10's. Since then 18 year old Joe has signed a proffessional contract with Man Utd.
Last Month the club received a letter from Les Kershaw, Man U Academy Director thanking the club for its efforts. They also have sent through a cheque for £1,000 as a token of their appreciation.
Wyke would like to say a massive thankyou to Manchester United for the gesture, and for acknowledgment of our efforts towards football.
We hope for many more of our players to have similar success to Joe Dudgeon.
We have contacted Man Utd to thank them for the appreciation, and hope we can continue to have a good relationship with Pro Clubs.
