Wyke 1-3 Lepton Highlanders

Wyke were knocked out of the 1st round of the

League Cup, losing the game 3-1 to Lepton Highlanders.

Wyke had it tough in the first half, with an uphill struggle

on a steep pitch, along with the sun in their eyes. They started reasonably

well, considering they were at a disadvantage.

Defensively, Wyke started well, Joe Mac and Tai Pedder made

easy work of any attack Lepton produced. At the other end of the pitch, Wyke

Wyke put in another fantastic performance today..which now

sees them advance to round 3 of the County Cup. It is now their 2nd

win in a row, and it was an impressive performance against an in-form Pudsey

Juniors who had yet to be beaten this season.

The first half was a game of much action, but no goals. Wyke

started the game well, especially considering they were playing uphill.

Defensively they were faultless, Joe Mac and Tai Pedder were handling every

ball which came to them, ...

Wyke returned to winning ways in style today. A confident display, and good teamwork

gave them their first win in 5 games, and their second win of the season. Wyke

had a point to prove against their opposition Saville Town after a 3-1 defeat

to them in pre-season.

Wyke had a change from their usual bad start, and actually started off fantastically! Andy

and Dave both stressed they wanted a positive and strong start. The boys didn’t

disappoint, and within the first 2 minutes, ...

Wyke were defeated away from home against and strong and well organised Barugh today. It now means Wyke have suffered 4 straight league defeats and they will be hoping to turn around their fortunes in the next few games.

As usual Wyke started off slowly, and had an absolute disaster of a start. They let a goal in after less than a minute, and Barugh kept attacking, and were rewarded with another three goals. After 10 minutes Wyke found themselves 4-0 down, after crosses into the box were ...

Wyke Wanderers were defeated again today which is now their third straight defeat in

the league. The score of 9-3 would suggest a heavy defeat, in which they were

outplayed, however it doesn’t tell the full story.

Wyke didn’t settle well into the game, and found themselves 2-0 down after 5 minutes.

However the game turned in Wyke’s favour. Scott Morris and Connor Rhodes were making some

great play down the left wing, and Wyke were unlucky not to get back into the

game. ...

Wyke suffered another heavy defeat this week, this time at the hands of League

newboys 3D Dynamos.

Wyke started off reasonably well, and although they spent much of the first half

defending, they seemed to be coping well with the barrage of attack from the

Dynamos. Joe Couble made light work of the many chances they had.

Dynamos continued to attack, and used their fast strikers to great effect, they had

three one-on-ones which Keeper Joe Couble did well to save.

Wyke Under 12’s slumped to their first defeat of the season, losing by 7 goals to 1 against an energetic Howden Clough Team.

Howden started much the stronger team, and Wyke were very messy at the back and struggled to cope with the Howden Clough attacking moves. Owen and Tai started slowly, and there were several balls over the top which led to one-on-ones. Joe Couble was in form in goals and made some good saves to keep the score at 0-0.

Wyke did have their fair share of chances ...

Wyke 4-1 Silkstone.

Wyke put in a fantastic performance to seal their first win of the season, and although the

score of 4-1 seems like an easy win, it doesn’t tell the full story of the

match.

Wyke didn’t start the game very well. Silkstone were playing very good football and Wyke

didn’t handle it very well. At the back, Wyke weren’t clearing the ball and the

midfield took a long time to settle. Silkstone took the lead, and really they

Wyke Wanderers 4-4 Kirkburton.

Wyke started off life in the second division with a very encouraging and positive

performance against a strong Kirkburton side.

The first five minutes of the game were a little uneasy for Wyke, and Kirkburton looked

extremely strong in attack. Kirkburton opened the scoring with a goal which was

well struck and left Joe Couble no chance of saving it. Kirkburton could have

extended their lead a minute later, but Keeper Joe Couble came to the rescue

Howden Clough B

Wyke

finished off their pre-season matches with a fantastic win against Howden

Clough. Wyke start their league campaign on Sunday, and their brilliant win

will give them a well needed confidence boost,

Wyke were

in the driving seat from the start of the game,

Connor opened the scoring after only a minute or so. Wyke continued to

be strong in attack, with Scott, Jack, Connor and Nathan linking up very well,

and producing so brilliant football. ...

Wyke 3-7 Norristhorpe.

Wyke suffered their third friendly defeat of the season, against a strong Norristhorpe team today.

Things didn’t go well from the start, when Wyke found themselves 1-0 after 4 minutes, and then conceded another 2 goals in the following 15 minutes. Wyke’s passing was very sloppy, and they couldn’t hold any possession, and Norristhorpe kept counter attacking and catching the Wyke defence out.

Wyke did create a couple of the chances in the first half, Connor ...
