Wyke pulled out an amazing performance to get a much needed and confidence boosting win over Battyeford tonight. Battyeford had run out winners by 7 goals to 2 at Wyke Manor, and Wyke new they would have to work hard to pick up anything from the match. However they did, a picked up a brilliant 4-2 win. Battyeford have been rivals with Wyke since under 8’s in terms of abilities, and every game has been a tightly contested affair, but this time Wyke were by far the better team and fully deserved ...

Wyke suffered a back to back defeat against League Champions YMCA, having been defeated by them on Sunday, and then two days later. Wyke lost 7-0 which was a definate improvement from the 10-0 result on Sunday.

The Under 11's made a brilliant start, coming out and taking the game to YMCA. Wyke had three strikers and three midfielders and this meant they could attack more. Sometimes attack is the best form of defence, and Wyke showed this, holding the game 0-0, until 5 minutes before half ...

After 4 weeks without a game, Wyke were thrown in at the deep end, with a massive game against the mighty YMCA. Wyke didn't play particularly well, and YMCA took their chances, to win 10-0.

YMCA started the livelier of the two teams, but Wyke were strong at the back, and Joe Couble was commanding his area very well. However YMCA scored 8 minutes into the match and from there on it was all downhill for Wyke. YMCA were leading 4-0 at half time and Wyke had barely left their own half.
Celebrations for the Under 11’s as they picked up their first win in 6 months!!!!

Wyke beat bottom of the league Batley 2-1, however the score didn’t reflect the match, which Wyke totally dominated.

Wyke started off very positively, and it was a good ten minutes before

Batley got out of their own half. Wyke continued to dominate, had had loads of chances to score. Quinn Riley had some great chances, but couldn’t finish, Tai Pedder had a couple of chances, and so did Jake and ...

Wyke 0-4 Hepworth 4.

Wyke Wanderers were beaten for the second time this season, against Hepworth United, this time 4-0, the previous result being 5-1.

Even though the game was ended in a disappointing defeat, the performance was of a very high standard, and the attitude of the players was brilliant.

Wyke started off the livelier of the two teams, and had a couple of first half chances, Connor Rhodes came close to breaking the deadlock, and was unlucky not to score. Scott and ...

Another game, and another defeat for Wyke, in this most difficult of seasons, this time coming against Lepton Highlanders. The score finished 4-0 which certainly wasn’t a disaster, and actually considering the difficult circumstances, was a reasonable result.

Wyke started really well, Tai Pedder was playing up front, for the first time in 5 seasons with Wyke, and contributed well to the improving Wyke attack. Scott and Connor were also very lively upfront, but didn’t really create any ...

Wyke faced their rivals Battyeford this Sunday, in a game which promised to be a tight match. Battyeford were only 2 places above Wyke in the league, and had not beaten Wyke since they were U8’s. However the result didn’t suggest a tight match, with Battyeford overcoming Wyke to win 7-2.

Wyke took an unexpected lead, when Connor Rhodes broke through and lobbed the keeper, to make it 1-0.

However in a reversal of fortunes, Wyke then conceded two goals in two minutes, the second ...

Wyke Wanderers today matched their worst result of the season today, losing by 13 goals to nil against top of the league side Linthwaite.

Linthwaite put in a quality performance against Wyke. Wyke certainly didn’t play to their ability, but Linthwaite looked strong throughout the match and controlled most of the game.

Wyke were 7-0 at half time, and we defensively, very poor. Wyke made it easy for Linthwaite to score easy goals, by not marking up and poor clearances. Tai and Owen, ...

Wyke U11’s 0-3 Barugh.

Although Wyke’s form has been pretty poor lately, the prospect of playing Barugh was a good one. Wyke’s only win of the season was earlier on against Barugh away. However in a very tight match, Wyke were eventually defeated by three goals, after being unable to convert their chances to goals.

In the first half, Wyke looked to be equal to their opponents, the defence was a little shakey, but Wyke’s midfield were playing well, Scott, Dom P and Nathan were ...

Match Report- Wyke 2-7 Dewsbury Rangers

Although Wyke were defeated again, it was a spirited and positive performance from the lads.

Wyke have had a couple of very dissapointing defeats in recent matches, however their

performance today was much better.

Wyke started well, and for the first 15 minutes of the match, they seemed the better team.

Their hard worked paid off, when Joe McLoughlin was brought down in the penalty area and

Wyke wanderers slumped to another big defeat today, losing 10-0 to Howden Clough.

In fairness, the result didn't really tell the full story, as Wyke played some good football in

spells, but just couldnt break through.

Wyke were trailing 3-0 at half time, and although they were the better team, Wyke were unlucky to

Wyke U11’s were defeated again in Division 1, this time losing 5-1.

The weather was terrible just before kick off, and with players missing at kick off, the defence was a bit mismatched. Wyke started reasonably well, and the game was well matched. However the defence struggled a little, against the 3 strikers that Hepworth had. They had at least 4 or 5 chances before they scored, Joe McLoughlin was playing very well in goals, and was quick off his line to pick up the loose ball. Louis ...

The Under 11’s suffered their biggest defeat of the season, getting hammered at home to Linthwaite. The final score was 7-1.

Wyke started fairly well in the first half. Although Linthwaite had much of the action, Wyke seemed to cope with their attacks. After 20 minutes, however a slight mistake in the defence led to a Linthwaite goal, and then another straight after. 2-0.

5 minutes later Linthwaite scored again, and Wyke were now trailing 3-0. Jack Lamch had a shot hit the cross bar ...

Wyke are out of the cup, after a first round defeat to Hepworth United B team.

However, Wyke still had to out in a good performance to get anything from the game. It didn’t happen, and Wyke were taught a lesson.

Wyke 4-7 Howden Clough

Wyke started the game pretty poorly, and got punished by Howden Clough as they took the lead 1-0.

Mikey Brooksbank scored a great goal to put Wyke back in the game.

However Wyke's poor defending, led to another Howden Clough Goal.

Howden Clough continued to attack, and an own goal, led to a 3-1 scoreline.

Owen and Tai, were not having the best of games, and the team was suffering.

The second half, started with a quick goal for Wyke, Again ...

Match Report

Wyke had a great result against Barugh last week, however they faced very tough opposition against Longcroft Lions, Longcroft had had a great start to the season and won their first 2 games of the season.

Longcroft proved to be very difficult opposition, and dominated much of the first half, and too be honest, they could have scored several goals. However a great performance from Joe Couble in ...

Match Report

After a dissapointing start to the season, with a defeat to Lepton last week. Wyke needed to pick themselves up, to carry on in the top Under 11's division.

Wyke made a lively start, and within 6 minutes, Wyke took the lead, with a great goal from Michael Brooksbank.

5 minutes later, a poor moment of defending, lead to an equaliser from Barugh.

However Wyke kept going, ...
